Sengerema Hospital

About this project

Sengerema Hospital, located in northwestern Tanzania, is a critical healthcare facility serving thousands of patients in a predominantly rural region. Frequent power outages posed a serious challenge to the delivery of consistent, lifesaving care—especially for surgeries, maternity, and emergency services.

In partnership with the Sopowerful Foundation, Greenlink ReGen implemented a 200 kWp solar PV system alongside a 480 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS), using 448 high-efficiency solar panels. The system features advanced technology including Victron Quattro inverters, MPPT charge controllers, and Fronius Tauro and Symo inverters, enabling seamless and reliable energy management.

This installation has transformed the hospital’s energy resilience—ensuring uninterrupted power 24/7, drastically reducing reliance on the unstable grid and diesel generators, and allowing the hospital to focus more resources on patient care. We are proud to support sustainable healthcare infrastructure in Tanzania and grateful to the Sopowerful Foundation for making this impactful project possible.
