Four Seasons Serengeti
About this project
Set deep within Serengeti National Park, Four Seasons Safari Lodge is one of Tanzania’s most exclusive luxury lodges. Operating since 2012, the lodge offers 77 guest rooms, suites, and villas with uninterrupted views of the savannah and surrounding wildlife. Known for its commitment to sustainability and guest comfort, Four Seasons required a solar solution that aligned with both its environmental values and high-end hospitality standards.
Greenlink ReGen designed and executed a 990 kWp solar system paired with a 3MWh battery energy storage system (BESS)—making this the largest off-grid solar installation in Tanzania to date. The system includes 2,256 solar panels, carefully positioned to preserve the lodge’s natural aesthetics and ecological integrity.
This installation ensures uninterrupted clean energy for daily operations, drastically reducing reliance on diesel generators while delivering quiet, seamless power in one of Africa’s most remote locations. Switching to renewable energy as oposed to generators has allowed signifcant cost savings due to the reduction in diesel consumption.
