Benedictine Abbey Ndanda Monastery

About this project

Ndanda Abbey, located in southern Tanzania in Mtwara region, is a historic Benedictine monastery known for its community service, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. With a growing demand for stable and sustainable energy across its campus, the Abbey sought a reliable solution to reduce its dependence on the national grid and diesel generators.

Greenlink ReGen installed a 300 kWp solar PV system paired with a 399 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS), using a total of 540 solar panels. The system provides clean, consistent energy to power the Abbey’s daily operations, including the monastery, schools, workshops, and hospital.

This installation not only improves energy reliability and efficiency but also reflects the Abbey’s commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term sustainability.
